Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer develops and improves quality-focused manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment for new and existing wire, harness, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process Development - Create and refine manufacturing processes for harness systems, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical products.
- Work Instructions - Develop and maintain clear, efficient work instructions to improve manufacturability.
- Technical Problem Solving - Diagnose production issues and recommend solutions for internal and customer-driven design challenges.
- New Product Introduction - Lead engineering activities to transition new products into production.
- Tooling & Fixtures - Design and implement tools and fixtures to support efficient manufacturing.
- Equipment Improvements - Evaluate, justify, and implement new equipment purchases.
- Change Management - Manage process and documentation updates driven by internal or customer engineering changes.
- Drawing & BOM Review - Interpret and audit drawings and BOMs for accuracy.
- Production Support - Provide expert technical guidance to production teams and collaborate with purchasing, quality, test, and manufacturing groups.
- Additional Duties - Perform other engineering tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- BS in Engineering or related field preferred
- 2+ years manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with cable layup/construction and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Injection molding experience strongly preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency)
- Experience with Lean manufacturing
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
